Mechanic with Electrical Experience

Australian Bus & Truck Care, based in Dandenong South is seeking an experienced and reliable mechanic with electrical experience. You will be working on brand new vehicles in a spacious workshop amid a fantastic, well-organised and supportive team. We seek applicants who are self-motivated; pay attention to detail and take pride in their workmanship. In order for you to feel comfortable, happy and enjoy working at Australian Bus & Truck Care, you must be a team player who contributes to the group and can pull their own weight.

Furthermore you understand and are competent with using power tools (including cordless, air and electric) for removing and refitting components – minimising the use of hand tools.

Following basic instructions (either verbal or documented procedures), you will be able to install new components (including lights, air conditioners and radios) and modified parts, and relocate items such as battery boxes, fuel tanks and air tanks and associated components.

You must be able to fit basic electrical components (such as work lights with brackets) to trucks and join wires if required. There is no need to be a qualified electrician but you should understand basic electrics such as positive, negative and earth connections. You need to be able to run electrical wiring or airlines neatly along the chassis or cabin and avoid running wires and lines over sharp edges, moving or hot parts, or where wire could be pinched or damaged.

This role is casual but will become full time after a trial period. Hours are 7 am to 3.10 pm Monday to Friday (38 hrs per week), however candidates must be prepared to work overtime outside these hours.
